Unroll your mats in the serene setting of the cemeteries' Wild Wood Valley Gardens for an intimate 1-hour, all-levels yoga practice (beginners welcome). Then, stay for a walking tour that highlights topics in St. Louis History. The grounds of Bellefontaine are 314 acres of horticulture, architecture, art, history, and wildlife – we cannot wait to explore them with you! Bellefontaine has many notable peoples buried within the 314 acres of a Garden Cemetery. Some of these include: Joy of Cooking author – Irma Rombauer, artist – William Conrad Styles Severson, and Barber Shop suppliers the Koken Family. Hear their and other stories in a short stroll after yoga. Tickets are $15 and include yoga and walking tour. Please bring a yoga mat or towel if you have one. A small number will be available first come / first serve. This class is outdoors – bring sunscreen, water, etc. Attendees will arrive via main entrance at 4947 W. Florissant Ave. Once inside the gate attendees should follow white signs with ‘green’ arrows to the event location. Parking located within the park.

Enjoy a two-hour walk exploring the cemetery and arboretum in the cooling hours of dusk. Master Guides will share stories of the intriguing historic figures buried at Bellefontaine, as well as architectural highlights and horticulture features found throughout the walk. During this time of the day, more of Bellefontaine's wildlife becomes more active. This tour focuses on 20 of these structures. Entrance into a few of these structures has been granted by the families. Join Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum's Green Burial expert, Gracie Griffin, as she provides a closer look at green burial practices, dispels myths, and explores some exciting and fascinating options available throughout the world. You will learn about the range of "green" funeral and cemetery options available today- like being "planted" in a meadow or amongst the trees, what one can expect when choosing a green service, and the environmental benefits of green burial as compared to cremation and traditional burial. This 90 minute presentation and Q&A will be held in at Hotchkiss Chapel at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. Green arrow signs will lead you from our main entrance at 4947 W. Florissant Ave. to the chapel.
