A place of interment provides a place of remembrance and serenity for family and friends — a place to honor those we love. Bellefontaine offers several options for honoring your loved one through lot maintenance and beautification.
Perennial Planting Program
Our Perennial Planting Program provides the opportunity to decorate your lot and pay tribute to your loved one with plants that will bloom year after year. While Bellefontaine of course provides excellent lawn care, you may also choose alternatives such as ivy or other groundcovers. As new details on the program are being finalized, please contact Gracie or Rick at the Cemetery office with any questions, 314-381-0750.
Floral Arrangements
If you’d like to honor your loved one with an individual arrangement hand-delivered to the gravesite by our cemetery staff, you may choose to order fresh flowers or plants directly through our partnership with Walter Knoll Florist.
To preserve the beauty of our grounds for all, we kindly request that only fresh-cut flowers, greens, and potted plants are placed on graves and lots. Artificial flowers, plants, and decorations are generally not permitted, with the exception of artificial wreaths for the Christmas holiday (removed by January 15) and American flags honoring veterans. All other grave decorations will be removed periodically as needed to maintain the serene environment.

Christmas Wreaths and Swags
It has become an annual Bellefontaine tradition for families to adorn loved ones’ graves with fresh evergreen wreaths and swags for the holidays. Please contact the Cemetery office at 314-381-0750 for current pricing of an evergreen swag or 24″ wreath adorned with holly berries and red bow. Monument Cleaning
The monuments, statuary, and other architectural features of a gravesite or lot can require significant care over the years to remove lichens or pollution residues. Bellefontaine can wash and reset monuments, as well as provide more intensive repair work if needed. Each arrangement is made on a case-by-case basis.
