Take a Self-Guided Tour of Bellefontaine Cemetery
You are welcome to independently tour Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum! Bellefontaine Cemetery is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Bellefontaine Cemetery is also a Level II Accredited Arboretum and listed in the Morton Register of Arboreta. Our 314 acres are beautiful year-round.
You can drive through the cemetery along 14 miles of paved roadway or tour our 3.7-mile newly painted white line route from the comfort of your car. You can also enjoy a walk or run through the cemetery. Dog walking is permitted, but please follow our leash laws and bring your doggy bags! You may also ride a bike through the cemetery by yourself or with a friend.
We have maps in a box outside of our main office door, which is located immediately on the right as you enter the cemetery gates at 4947 W. Florissant. Bellefontaine Cemetery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Cemetery gates are locked promptly at 5:00 p.m. Bring your camera and share your pictures on our Google, Facebook, or Instagram pages.

Public Tours of Bellefontaine Cemetery
Bellefontaine offers a variety of public tours led by a Master Guide as well as private tours. If you would like to learn more about tours, events and other services offered at Bellefontaine, please provide your information and we will send you informational emails and keep you up to date on our latest news and events. Free Public Tours led by a Master Guide
March through November Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum offers trolley tours. These tours take place on select Saturdays and you may register to attend by reviewing our events calendar. Tours are led by a Bellefontaine Master Guide.
We also offer free Master Guide led walking tours. Explore\ the flora, fauna, and history of the cemetery. Reservations must be made in advance. Times and dates vary, so please see our events calendar for more details. .
Specialty Tours
Periodically throughout the year, we offer specialty tours such as Black History, Notable Women, or the Civil War. Please see our events calendar for details on when these are offered.
Private Bus Tour
Private bus tours, led by one of our Master Guides can be arranged for a fee. The tour must be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance, and there is a maximum of 25 people per tour. Private Tour
Bellefontaine offers private tours by foot, car, or caravan. These are also led by one of our Master Guides. Plans must be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance.
