Obituary For Theresa Regina Mitchell

Theresa Regina Mitchell was born on March 14, 1959, PI Day and a special day that represents her city. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Theresa passed into the Kingdom of Heaven on December 14, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She entered eternal rest during the season of Advent—a sacred time of hope and waiting—during a Jubilee year in Church which is a season marked by mercy, renewal and grace.
Theresa worked for many years as a mail carrier. She served the Webster Groves community and loved this role. She loved her routes not only for the people she served, but for the time it gave her to pray along her path.
True to the saint she was named for, Saint Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, she lived in a way that reflected that devotion—believing that humble acts, offered with great love, could make a difference in one's life. Her caregiver role was quiet and her love unfailing. She stood faithfully beside her parents and her daughter during seasons of illness, offering love, strength, and comfort humbly.
Theresa had a glorious love for her family and a heart that remained open to all. She possessed a gift to see dignity in every person, welcoming others without condition and offering kindness without judgement.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Fannon; her mother, Jean Fannon; and her beloved niece, Dana Maysey.
Theresa is survived by her loving children, Stacie and Jason Mitchell and her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Merritt and Ian Merritt (Kayli Stevens), Gavin and Brock Mitchell and Mia Mitchell Fransos. She is also survived by her beloved friend and neighbor, Dave Hollinsworth. Theresa is also survived by her beloved sister, Donna Maysey (husband Jack) and her beloved brother Tim Fannon (wife Kim).
Theresa is lovingly remembered by her nieces Michelle Icaza
(Orlando), Toni Ponder (Mark) and her late niece, Dana Maysey (beloved Donn, late) and her nephews Andrew Fannon (Morgan), Nick Fannon (Rachael) and Sam Fannon (Hannah).
She was a devoted great-aunt to Lucas, Santi, Estella and Ylana Icaza; Heidi, Jack and Charli Ponder; Parker, Graham and Cam Fannon; Frankie and Quinn Fannon and Caroline Fannon.
Theresa's love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Her funeral ceremony and burial will be held December 22, 2025, Bellefontaine Cemetery, 4947 West Florissant Avenue, St. Louis, MO at 1:00 p.m.
