Obituary For Samantha Marie Stanek

Samantha Marie Isidore Grinstead Stanek, 49, of Caledonia, MI, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, in St Louis, MO. She was born on November 10, 1973, in Ventura, CA, to Ruth Grinstead.

Samantha is survived by her husband of 30 years, Doug Stanek, having given life to seven wonderful people. Raising a family of Kenneth, Rachael, Gabriella, Olivia, Alexandria, Evangaline Kay. Also Kenn’s wife Anna, mother, Ruth Grinstead, sister Anne Grinstead and brothers John and Rick Grinstead and many nieces and nephews.

She loved with her whole heart and did what she could for anybody. She gave people a home when they didn't have one. She laughed loud and often and was willing to give most things a try. She loved meeting new people and could talk for hours about anything under the sun. She cooked the best meals and knew any song that you could think of. She was a fantastic mom who was there for her kids in the ways that she could be, in the ways that mattered most. She had her regrets, but she always said the one thing she wanted to do most in life was be a mom, and that's what she was and she was great. She was loved by more than just her biological children, she was loved by those that became honorary Staneks along the way.

    Sam connected on very many levels with my son. They shared many conversations about trips and the world. She holds such a special place in are hearts and I'm forever grateful for the conversations her and my son has held.

    Sam was a wonderful mom and great friend to many. I'll always cherish the reaction to little Evangeline's personalized onzie I had made for her. She was such a proud momma is so many ways. We spent many Band and basketball events together. Many concession nights. She will be missed. But I'm sure she left a lifetime of memories for her children to carry on to their own children. Heaven is a beautiful place with her in it. She will be keeping a place for everyone. The McGuire's
