Obituaries

Robert “Bob” Beekman, age 79, died peacefully at home on June 2, 2022, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cathleen (Durphy) Beekman, his children, Thomas (Alison) Durphy, Gregory (Ann), and Mary (Caeden) Sweet, his grandchildren Caryn, Shannon, Kelly, Margaret, and Jack, his precious great-grandson, Magnus, and many cherished relatives and friends. Born the 6th of 9 children in his family, Bob was the first to graduate high school and college. He later obtained a master’s degree and a law degree, and had successful careers as both a teacher and a lawyer. Bob will always be remembered for his warmth, compassion, and sense of humor. He loved his children and grandchildren fiercely, but his greatest legacy will be the example of true love and devotion to his wife, Cathleen.
