Obituary For Richard F McPhail
In Loving Memory of Mr. Richard F. McPhail
Mr. Richard F. McPhail, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, departed from this world on May 4, 2024, to join his beloved wife, Carol Ann McPhail, his son, Steven Michael McPhail, and his siblings Albert Tom McPhail, Harry McPhail, and Mary Blake (McPhail) in God's Eternal Kingdom. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Richard's life was a testament to his unwavering devotion to his family and his community. He leaves behind his daughter Susan McPhail Pang and her partner, Kei Y. Pang, and his son, Richard Scott McPhail. Richard was blessed with four grandchildren: Jordan Lee McPhail, Jo Pang and Andrea, Jonathan Pang, and Jolena Pang and Merik. He was also blessed to meet a great-grandchild, Thea, before his passing.
For nearly the last half of his life, Richard called Phoenix, Arizona, home. He was an active member of the community, known for his presence at the Sun City West Rec Center, the Moose Lodge, two Karaoke clubs, and his church, Our Lady of Lourdes, Sun City West, Arizona. Richard's zest for life was evident in his love for travel, where he shared countless adventures with friends, exploring scenic places of historical significance around the world.
In his leisure time, Richard found joy in tending to his orange and grapefruit trees, nurturing them with the same care and dedication he gave to his loved ones. His passion for gardening was a reflection of his mother, Leona Margaret, and he took pride in watching his Saguaros grow from small plants into majestic symbols of Arizona's desert landscape.
Before retiring, Richard dedicated himself to his craft as a tool and die maker, working for General Motors and Chrysler Corporation. His commitment to excellence and craftsmanship left an indelible mark on those he worked with and inspired.
Richard's departure leaves a void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Yet, his memory will forever be cherished, and his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and love.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held on May 9, 2024 at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum, Saint Louis, Missouri (175 years of history). Richard's wishes included that prayers be sent for Peace and no flowers please.
Rest in peace, dear Richard. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your legacy of love and joy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew you.
Condolences
