Obituary For Peggy Jean Taormina

You don't know about sadness, til you've faced life alone. You don't know about lonely, til it's chiseled in stone.” -Vern Gosdin

She liked that song. She said it was a good perspective to have.

Peggy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles. She is survived by her five children Susan Straub (Rusty Straub), Claude Brickey, Preston Brickey (Mary Brickey), William Brickey, and Laurie Pigue ( Rex Pigue), 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and her sister Sharon Brickey.

Born the second child to William “Bill” and Dorothy “Dot” Hubbard in Delassus Missouri, a town so small it was later absorbed by Farmington, Peggy was a country girl at heart and never failed to charm us with her country wisdom and anecdotes. She spent a good deal of time laughing at those of us in trenches raising babies because she had been there and done that and knew the struggle well. Thankfully, we had her to help us through. Even when she couldn't help, she had a story. She loved anything with fur and spent her later years ensuring that all the birds, deer and raccoons within a mile of her house were well fed. This is a trait she passed on quite well.

A good Catholic, Peggy also loved Padre Pio so please consider making a donation in her honor to https://padrepio.com/
