Obituary For Linda Sue Yoder

Linda Sue Yoder (Chattos) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023. She was 73 years old. Linda, the eldest of six, was born on April 2, 1950 in Columbus, OH to Alex and Gloria (Frutchey) Chattos. She met her husband, Doug, while attending dental hygiene school Raymond Walters Community College in Cincinnati, OH and they were married on May 29, 1976. After living in Chicago, IL for several years, they returned to Cincinnati where they welcomed their two children, Abby and Jeff. In 1990, Doug’s career saw them move to St. Louis, MO, where they resided until her passing.

Linda enjoyed a leisurely life, content to curl up with a good book, stroll the aisles of local art fairs, or to simply sit outside with the family dog. But you could guarantee to find her planted in front of the TV every Saturday during college football season to cheer on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes! Above all, she valued time spent with family and close friends. In retirement, you would likely find her brunching with neighbors or spending a nice weekend at home with family. There were few things that lit up her eyes in the way that holding her first grandchild did

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rick. She is survived by her brothers David (Heather) of Pawley’s Island, SC, and Dan (Jana) of Hot Springs Village, AR, and her sisters Nancy Himes (Jerry) of Findlay, OH, and Karen Routzon (Corky) of Nokomis, FL. She is also survived by her husband of 47 years, Doug, their two children, Abby (Doug Smith), and Jeff (Angela Brady), and her granddaughter Sylvie Smith.

A private burial will be held by the family. A celebration of life will follow at Sqwire’s Restaurant (1415 S. 18th St, St. Louis, MO 63104) from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm on Monday, June 26. Messages of remembrance and condolence may be sent to Doug Yoder at 16434 Hollister Crossing Dr, Wildwood, MO 63011. Linda was an active supporter of many charities. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to any St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
