Condolences

John made many valuable civic contributions, including his committed representation of school districts in the School Desegregation settlement efforts. He was very helpful in my career. We first worked together on an ACLU case in 1971 and then he was chair of the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri committee that hired me as Executive Director in 1975. Shortly thereafter he became president of the LSEM board and gave me very good advice. David Lander

Gary and I first met John when he was President of the University City Board of Education. What a terrific person! Just the nicest man and made such a huge difference to so many. Condolences to his family on this loss.
