George Edward Mills, 71, of St. Louis passed away on July 5, 2024.

He was born in 1952 in Lafayette, Indiana to William (Bill) and Mary Mills. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Niedermeyer), and his four children, their spouses, and his grandchildren: Karen Mills and Robin Stoker, Ellen and Jakub Langer (Irena, Zuzana, Zdenek), Jeanne and Tony Di Domenico (Guido, Enzo, Isabella), and Kevin Mills and Sarah Rebholz (Charlie, Owen, Beatrice). He is also survived by his three siblings, David (Marilyn), Joan Weiss (Tony), and Tom (Donna), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Throughout his life, he was a beloved teacher and coach. He taught math and coached basketball at St. Margaret of Scotland, Cardinal Ritter High School, Priory High School, St. Louis University High School, and Marian Middle School. He loved rivers, geometry, biking, puzzles, paddling, camping, and every adventure. He lived his life for justice, education, and enjoying God’s creation.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9th in the church basement at St. Margaret of Scotland (3854 Flad Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110), from 4-8pm. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at St. Margaret of Scotland Church at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, we invite contributions to Marian Middle School or the Sr. John Mandeville Multicultural Fund at St. Margaret of Scotland.
