Obituary For Frederick Robert King
Frederick Robert King, the son of Fred and Anne King (Simaskevich), was born in Monroe, NY. on August 9th, 1944. He passed away in Ballwin, MO. at the age of 81 on March 28, 2026 in his wife’s arms surrounded by loved ones.
He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA. in 1963 where he met the love of his life, Donna Lee Bridwell. The two were married on September 25, 1965 in the city where their story began. Fred was a Chemical Operator for Monsanto for 52 years, working at both the Long Beach and St. Louis plants. He was a member of First Evangelical Free Church for 33 years.
Fred’s life centered on adventure, connection, and lasting memories with a strong commitment to family. His journey was filled with annual vacations to Bass Lake, and Lake Havasu for boating, water skiing, white water rafting and snow skiing at Mammoth Mt. He especially loved Fourth of July block parties with family, friends, and neighbors. As an avid golfer, Fred and Donna traveled and played golf with several couples that became lifelong friends. In his younger years, Fred stayed active with racquetball, basketball and softball. He encouraged his grandchildren by attending their sporting events and was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and Kansas City Chiefs football fan.
In addition to his wife Donna, Fred is survived by:
Two daughters: Tammy King of O’Fallon, MO. & Heather Becker of Foley, MO., adopted daughter Robyn Crider of Troy, MO. & two daughters-in-law, Michelle Monson, & Melanie Patterson.
Ten Grandkids: James King, Ashley Rogers, Kenneth King, Amanda King, Taylor King, David Auer, Maison Wallace, Matthew King, Waylon Becker, & Baylie Barba.
Nine Great Grandchildren: Keegan King, Owen Mitchell, Keanu King, Emilia King, Kalea King, Conway Rogers, Sage Wallace, Reese Markert, & Lyra Wallace.
Preceding Fred in death are his parents Frederick & Anne King; son, Timothy King; brother Richard King, & sister Elaine Chance.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 18th, 2026, 10:00 a.m. at First Free Evangelical Church, 1375 Carman Rd. Ballwin, MO. 63021.
Following the service on April 18th, 2026, there will be a Celebration of Life held at Edge Wild Restaurant & Winery at 12:00 noon, 550 Chesterfield Center, Chesterfield, MO 63017.
