Fedor (Ted) F. Shamin, 65 years old, passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2025, at Mercy Hospital South Degreef Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Chelyabinsk, USSR, on January 11th, 1960.

In 1978, Fedor earned a specialty degree for Engineer, Assistant Sailor from Junior College Odessa, Ukraine. He went on to complete Kiev Transport Technical School for Maritime Navigation in 1987, where he earned his certification in maritime navigation. Fedor also served in the Russian military in 1988.

Fedor dreamed of coming to America and in 1992 he immigrated to Saint Louis, Missouri, United States. Through his dedication to becoming a US citizen, he was issued his certificate of citizenship on December 14th, 2014.

In 1998, Fedor earned a diploma in Electrical Mechanics from Vatterott College. Pursuing his goal of home ownership and housing rehabilitation, he purchased his first home in 1997. From there, he went on to build a successful business in housing revitalization and property management.

Fedor has one surviving daughter, Anastasia Shamin, three sisters, several nieces and nephews, his ex-wife, Sharon (Taylor) Shamin, and close friends.

A graveside service and inurnment will be performed at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum, 4947 W. Florissant Avenue, Saint Louis, MO, 63115 on October 17th at 11:00 am. A private celebration of life will take place immediately following.
