Dan was not only a friend a long long time friend. I started working at Washington University Olin Library Aug 19 1971 and worked many years and then moved up to another position still in Olin and would see Dan every morning bright glowing smile and dressed up. He said that he was going to sing. After I retired I had his phone number and kept his email address close by. Then someone called and told me the news about Dan. Dan is now in heaven singing praises to our Lord and and Master and knows how blest our Lord is to have him there. Dan thanks for being my long time friend. I will see you in heaven.

This reminds us again, of how unbelievably short, life truly is. Danny will be missed in many ways, by all who knew him. We offer our hugs, prayers, comfort and condolences to all of Danny's family and to all, who meant so much to him. Rest in peace, till we meet again. Tom & Nora

I first met Dan more than 30 years ago, when I returned to St. Louis after law school and became involved in the choral music scene. It is impossible to have sung in a choir here without knowing Dan. He was a magnificent, talented tenor, and he had a vibrant, irrepressible, gentle, infectiously fun personality. I will forever miss his snarky quips and steady professionalism in rehearsals, as well as his steady presence in my life as a close friend. The world is less fabulous without Dan's presence. I hope, somewhere, that he is no longer in pain, enjoying the music he loved so much. Jay Kloecker

I first met Dan in 1997 when I first joined the W U team in Olin Library. Dan introduced himself and we became great friends/colleague. He always had a smile on his face and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Dan will be truly missed and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been friends with him. I know you're singing with the angels. S.I.P. my friend for you're not in pain no more.
