Charles W. Gray II, age 52, passed away on September 4, 2023. He was born November 9, 1970 in St. Louis, MO, as one of 5 children born to Charles W. Gray and Virginia I. Ragland. After graduating high school, Charles focused on perfecting and practicing general contract work along with other labor jobs, such as plastering, painting, drywall, plumbing and electrical. His career led him to become an expert in residential and commercial roofing. He participated in roof re-builds for American Roofing Inc, where he led crews in disaster recovery along the Gulf Coast. Upon returning to St. Louis, he continued to specialize in roofing through leading crews in sub general contract work throughout early 2000’s. In 2014, he began working alongside his father, Charles W. Gray then transitioned in 2016 to current doing repairs with First Choice Construction Co.

Charles was survived by 7 children, Tairria Gray-Turner, Taleah Gray-Turner, Charles Buchanan, Markita Collier, Briana Franklin (Antwjuan), Charles W. Gray III, Kadence Gray; 9 grandchildren, Nylah, Savannah, Paris, Zyah’Avion, Charlie, Kyrie, Ahmar, Caelin, Ayla, and 4 sisters Yolanda Akano, Jacinta Douma, Angelique Joseph, and Jane Gray.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles W. Gray and Virginia I. Ragland.
