Arboretum Tour – Winter Shrub Walk Join one of our Horticulturists for a stroll in our most expansive garden space, Wildwood Valley, and the surrounding area in winter. This tour will focus on the various shrubs, and a handful of small trees, that come together within the garden to form the backbone and structure of this formal garden space. Every horticulturist-led tour of our Arboretum is unique and will potentially cover different plants. There’s always something interesting to discover in Wildwood Valley Gardens! On the contrary, as a non-sectarian cemetery, Bellefontaine has been open to 'all' since its beginning in 1849. African American history is a vibrant topic on the 314 acres of Bellefontaine. From Mother Baltimore to John Berry Meachum to Ida Woolfolk, African American history has always been present in this Rural Cemetery. Join us for an upcoming trolley tour! Our guides will lead this two-hour tour, telling stories of intriguing figures in African American History while showing highlights of the Cemetery grounds and monuments. Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum is excited to bring you our Fifth Annual Garage Sale on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until noon in our service yard. Once you enter the Cemetery gates, directional signs will guide you to the location. This event will rain or shine at Bellefontaine Cemetery, 4947 W. Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115. Browse items from the Cemetery, our volunteers, and a few antique dealers. Furniture, clothing, collectibles from past Cemetery events, and assorted items will be available for sale. A percentage of proceeds will go to the Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery. The Friends is a 501c3 that supports historic preservation, conservation efforts, and educational purposes, such as funding tours for local youths when they may not be available within their school district. No RSVP is necessary! Stop by, support a great cause, and then take your own self-guided tour through the Cemetery and Arboretum!
