Cathleen’s Chapel Walking Tour Walking is the ideal way to observe the cemetery. Our Walk with Cathleen begins at Wildwood Valley. A variety of plants bloom from spring to fall. We will pass a suffragist, a doctor who helped save St. Louis during the 1918 pandemic, and a cookbook author. We'll learn about riverboat pilots and civil war participants on the way to the Busch Mausoleum. By hearing their stories and visiting their graves, we honor their deeds and keep their memories alive. ♦ Space is limited and reservations are required♦ Walking terrain is mild with a mixture of hard and soft surfaces♦ Please wear appropriate outdoor walking attire♦ We ask that everyone arrive 15 to 20 minutes before tour time for a prompt departure♦ This is a rain or shine event except in the case of extreme lightning REGISTER NOW! Join us for our a brisk spring walk through Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum! In the months of March, April, and May, we offer a two-hour walking tour of the cemetery and arboretum. This 2-hour walk will be led by one of our Master Guides who will convey highlights of the cemetery grounds, horticulture, and a variety of intriguing figures who call Bellefontaine their last address. Particular attention will be paid to the Horticulture side of the cemetery while in different levels of bloom during these spring tours. ♦ A limited number of registrations for the tour are available so reservations are required.♦ Two-hour walking tours cover about 2 miles across moderate terrain.♦ Please wear appropriate walking attire.♦ We ask that everyone arrive between 15 to 20 minutes before tour time for a prompt departure.♦ Tours are free; however donations to the Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery are gratefully accepted. First Annual Garage Sale Join us for our First Annual Garage Sale this Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in our service yard. This event will be held rain or shine at Bellefontaine Cemetery, 4947 W. Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115. Once you enter the cemetery gates, directional signs will guide you to the location. Browse items from the cemetery, our volunteers, and a few antique dealers. Furniture, collectibles from past cemetery events, and assorted items will be available for sale. A percentage of proceeds will go to the Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery. The Friends is a 501c3 that supports historic preservation, conservation efforts, and educational purposes such as funding tours for local youths when they may not be available within their school district. No RSVP is necessary! Stop by and support a great cause, and then take your own self-guided tour through the cemetery and arboretum.
