This continuing Genealogy Presentation will introduce you to two families of Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum: Rutledge and Hotchkiss. Join Angie, Bellefontaine Volunteer Genealogist, as she shares her work and knowledge of Edward Rutledge. She will share how she was able to use Bellefontaine Records to propel her research. On display will be some of the primary records used in this search. From 2:30-3:00 we will take a break so attendees can review the records and meander around the Historic Hotchkiss Chapel. Volunteers will be on hand to share some of the stories of those buried in this section of the cemetery. At 3:00pm, Michele, Bellefontaine Volunteer Genealogist, will share her findings on Almerin Hotchkiss, yes a burial of Bellefontaine, but also our designer. Beginning with our records and some documents written by Almerin himself, Michelle will also share her search results taking Almerin back the Northeast and back some generations. Again some of the original primary documents will be on display for review by attendees. |
