To be added to a waiting list please call Dan Fuller at (314) 381-0750 Greenwood Cemetery, Bellefontaine Cemetery, and Calvary Cemetery are the final resting places for many of the persons associated with this historic family and their struggle for freedom. This three-hour bus tour will give the most complete background of the Scott family as can be given. Your journey will take you to all three cemeteries where cemetery staff and volunteers will share insights about Dred, Harriett, the Scott daughters, Rev. John R. Anderson, and others who were central to the families’ legal battle for freedom from slavery. The tour will begin at the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center - 5595 Grand Drive in Forest Park. Please park at the east end of the lot on the Grand Drive side. On-site hosts will check you in for the tour and give up to the minute instructions. The Visitor Center’s restrooms and Forest Perk Café will be open for use prior to departure. From Forest Park, the motor coach will take you to each cemetery where graveside presentations will be made. A break will be set at the mid-point of the tour with restrooms available. ♦ Seating is limited and reservations are required ♦ We ask that everyone arrive 15-20 minutes early to ensure a prompt departure time ♦ The bus is climate controlled but weather appropriate clothing is suggested as the tour will be disembarking for presentations ♦ This is a rain or shine event except in the case of extreme lightning This bus tour is free of charge thanks to Greenwood Cemetery Preservation Association and Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery. Master Guides will share stories of the intriguing historic figures buried at Bellefontaine, as well as architectural highlights and horticulture features found throughout the walk.
