Join Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum’s Green Burial expert, Gracie Griffin, as she provides a closer look at green burial practices, dispels myths, and discusses new trends and options in death-care. You will learn about the range of “green” funeral and cemetery options available today, like being “planted” in a meadow, what one can expect when choosing a green service, and the environmental benefits of green burial as compared to cremation and traditional burial. This 1.5 hour presentation, with a Q&A to follow, will be held in Hotchkiss Chapel at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. Enter the main gates of the cemetery at 4947 W. Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum

In the months of September, October, and November, we offer a two-hour walking tour of the cemetery and arboretum as the foliage transitions through the rich colors of Autumn.  This tour will be led by one of the cemetery’s Master Guides who will convey highlights of the cemetery grounds, horticulture and a variety of intriguing historic figures who call Bellefontaine their last address. Space is limited and reservations are required. Tours will cover about 2 miles across moderate terrain.  Please wear appropriate fall walking attire.  Room is limited and reservations are required.  Please arrive between 15 to 20 minutes before tour time for a prompt departure.    REGISTER NOW!   MAKE A GIFT Tours are free, however, donations to the Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery are gratefully accepted.
