Join us for our a brisk spring walk through Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum! In the months of March, April, and May, we offer a two-hour walking tour of the cemetery and arboretum. This 2-hour walk will be led by one of our Master Guides who will convey highlights of the cemetery grounds, horticulture, and a variety of intriguing figures who call Bellefontaine their last address. National Medal of Honor Day is observed every year on March 25 and is dedicated to Medal of Honor Recipients. Each branch of the U.S. military awards the Medal of Honor to those who have distinguished themselves “conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity” above and beyond the call of duty, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs official site.   Join us for a special two-hour walking tour on Friday, March 25, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. We will explore the lives of 10 Medal of Honor recipients: eight from the Civil War, one from the Korean Expedition, and one from World War I. Attendees will be selected to carry flags that will be placed at each grave.   This event is free, though donations to the cemetery are greatly appreciated.
