Genealogy Presentation – Edward Rutledge

Hotchkiss Chapel

Edward Rutledge was brought to Bellefontaine Cemetery in April of 1850 to be the first burial at the cemetery. Volunteer Genealogist, Angie, will share her technics used in her research as well as some of the surprises she found along the way.   After Angie's presentation joins us for a short walk to Edward Rutledge's graveside to hear St. Louis Bagpiper, Chris Apps, perform. Chris will also offer an overview of the use of bagpipes in funeral services.   This presentation will be held at the historic Hotchkiss Chapel on the grounds of the cemetery.  Enter at the cemetery main gate at 4947 W. Florissant and follow the signs to the chapel location.
