Horticulture Class – Soil Health for the Home Gardener: Regenerate, Protect, and Grow
Join Horticulturist, Megan Brannen, for a class on sustainably managing the soil health of your home garden. In this hands-on class, we’ll dive into the crucial role soil plays in healthy gardens. You’ll learn why soil is the foundation of thriving plants, and how proper soil care can lead to better growth, a reduction in weeds, and fewer pests. Topics will include how to perform a soil test, the importance of choosing the right plants for your garden, composting basics to enrich your soil naturally, and how effective soil management can prevent plant diseases. By the end of the session, you’ll have a practical understanding of how to protect and enhance your soil for long-term gardening success.
This class will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
It is free to attend with a suggested donation of $15 per person. Space is limited and registration is required.
