Greenwood Cemetery, Bellefontaine Cemetery, and Calvary Cemetery are the final resting places for many of the persons associated with this historic family and their struggle for freedom. This three-hour bus tour will give the most complete background of the Scott family as can be given.
Your journey will take you to all three cemeteries where cemetery staff and volunteers will share insights about Dred, Harriett, the Scott daughters, Rev. John R. Anderson, and others who were central to the families’ legal battle for freedom from slavery.
The tour will begin at the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center – 5595 Grand Drive in Forest Park. Please park at the east end of the lot on the Grand Drive side. On-site hosts will check you in for the tour and give up to the minute instructions. The Visitor Center’s restrooms and Forest Perk Café will be open for use prior to departure.
From Forest Park, the motor coach will take you to each cemetery where graveside presentations will be made. A break will be set at the mid-point of the tour with restrooms available.
