Celebrate Arbor Day at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum! 🌳🌲🌳
This Friday, April 25, Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum, Missouri’s first Level III Accredited Arboretum—one of only 50+ worldwide—invites you to a special Arbor Day event open to all!
From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., our dedicated horticulture staff will be at a table near the Willow Entrance, offering a unique opportunity to acquire a complimentary tree sapling! We have 200 tree saplings to give away, ranging from oaks to walnuts and pecans, to persimmons and serviceberries. Take home a piece of our arboreal heritage and help us grow our urban forest!
Our knowledgeable staff at the Willow Entrance table will also be available to answer your inquiries regarding horticulture, the rich history of our grounds as the first historic garden cemetery west of the Mississippi River, and our insightful horticulture tours.
We invite you to join us for this enriching Arbor Day celebration, where you can appreciate the beauty and significance of our arboretum and receive a tangible reminder of nature’s enduring legacy.
Enhance your Arbor Day experience with one of our complimentary walking tour! Embark on a guided exploration of our esteemed Magnolia collection. This 10:00 a.m. tour, led by James, will commence at the Willow Gatehouse, with a brief caravan to the picturesque Magnolia Hill.
