FREEAfrican American History Virtual Tour
African American Heritage at Bellefontaine Cemetery
We will explore the rich heritage of African Americans connected to Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum in this 50-minute presentation.
REGISTER to sign up and receive the Zoom conference link and password via email. You have to register to be included in our Zoom conference room as we are limited to 25 people. Please do not share or forward the Zoom meeting link without reserving your space!
We are starting to offer small, socially-distanced group tours but space is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. Sign up now if you are interested, but please keep your reservation(s) or cancel with enough notice as space is limited.
We are also offering some Zoom video conference presentations for those not comfortable leaving their homes. You do not have to have your camera turned on to see our presenter’s screen to watch the presentation.
We are also inviting people to take self-guided tours through Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. You can drive through the cemetery along 14 miles of paved roadway, or tour our newly painted white line route from the comfort of your car. You can also walk through the cemetery and practice social distancing, keeping at least 6 feet apart from other people who may be visiting the cemetery at the same time. Dog walking is permitted, but please follow our leash laws and clean up after them. You may also ride a bike through the cemetery by yourself or with a friend. Safe social distancing is recommended for all cyclists, too.
We have maps in a box right outside of our main office door, which is located immediately on the right as you enter the cemetery gates at 4947 W. Florissant. You may tour Bellefontaine Cemetery from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Cemetery gates are locked promptly at 5:00 p.m.
