African American History and Bellefontaine Cemetery

Celebrate Black History Month with Bellefontaine Cemetery, which holds fascinating and still-developing stories of famous and forgotten Black St. Louisans. Please join us for a free African American History presentation via Zoom online video conferencing. We will explore the rich heritage of African Americans connected to Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum during this 50-minute presentation. Dan Fuller, our Cemetery Chronicler, will share historical stories about Susan J. Rutherford, Priscilla Baltimore, Dr. Helen Elizabeth Nash, Reverend John Berry, Mary Meachum, Nelly “Aunt Nelly” Warren, Ida Woolfolk, Sherman Parker, and many more.
