BCA is pleased to participate once again in Historic Saint Louis’s Summer Garden Tour. See how our ancestors connected with the land in both ornamental and practical ways and enjoy various summertime activities.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
History Walking Tours
Take a one-hour tour in and around Wild Wood Valley Gardens. This tour will focus on the History of Bellefontaine and some of the individuals laid to rest in and around this garden setting. Three tour times are available.

Arboretum Walking Tours
Garden Design Walking Tour: Stroll through Wild Wood Valley Gardens with one of Bellefontaine’s Horticulturist, who will explain the unique garden design. The Tour will be one hour on easy terrain.

Flowering Plants Walking Tour: This tour will focus on the flowering plants of Wildwood Valley Gardens. Some attention will be drawn to the pollinators who call this Garden “home” and a place to pollinate.

Tree Walking Tour: Take a one-hour walking tour in and around Wildwood Valley Gardens and learn specifically about the trees which make up this section of the Bellefontaine Arboretum.

Architecture Walking Tour
Cascade Mausoleum Walking Tour: This tour will focus on the architecture and design of Cascade Mausoleum. Our newest mausoleum with a commanding view of Cascade Lake and Wildwood Valley Gardens.

Trolley Tour
Take a two-hour trolley tour through Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. This tour will be a combination of history and horticulture across 3.5 miles of this 314-acre Level III Arboretum and historic Cemetery.

Closing Program
As the day’s activities come to a close, we will be gathering in the Wildwood Valley Columbarium for a closing presentation. Staff will identify future events at Bellefontaine and communicate the completion of some restorations and new improvements upon the 314 acres of Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum.
