Decoration Day

May 30, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Confederate army surrendering to the Union, ending the Civil War and marking a turning point in our nation’s history. To honor this milestone, Bellefontaine is hosting a living history event, complete with reenactors.

We invite you to wander along a designated walking path and meet many Civil War era notables who now reside at Bellefontaine.  Learn what it was like to live through one of the most turbulent times in American history by hearing from these individuals, representing both the north and the south, at various checkpoints throughout the set path.  For those who wish to attend but prefer not to walk the 2 mile path, bus transportation will be available for $5.00 per person (no cost for a child on parent’s lap).

Enjoy food concessions, additional historic interpreters, educational opportunities and other vendors at the Marketplace, which will be adjacent to the complimentary parking area along with public restrooms.
