DESCRIPTION: \nSt. Louisans will celebrate the Eads Bridge at 150 years of use. Declared to be “Impractical and Impossible”\, the Eads bridge still stands and is used daily. James Buchanan Eads\, Chief Engineer\, designed the bridge\, but many others helped in its financing\, opening\, and maintenance. Some held other political offices within our state and others fulfilled duties in other territories\, but almost all had essential roles outside of politics that aided in the development of our city\, region\, and state. This is a memorial event. \nOn August 30\, 2024\, Bellefontaine’s Hotchkiss Chapel will be beautifully lit for an evening of reflection and remembrance at our 10th Annual Memorial Lantern Glow.  \nWe invite our Cemetery families and their friends to join us between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to share memories and light a luminary to acknowledge loved ones here at Bellefontaine or elsewhere. Cemetery Staff and Volunteers will set memorial votives for those interred at Bellefontaine Cemetery since January 1\, 2023. To accommodate all guests\, RSVP is encouraged and greatly appreciated.
