DESCRIPTION:Cathleen’s Chapel Walking Tour\nWalking is the ideal way to observe the cemetery. Our Walk with Cathleen begins at Wildwood Valley. A variety of plants bloom from spring to fall. We will pass a suffragist\, a doctor who helped save St. Louis during the 1918 pandemic\, and a cookbook author. We’ll learn about riverboat pilots and civil war participants on the way to the Busch Mausoleum. DESCRIPTION:African American History Trolley Tour\n\nMaster Guides will lead a 2-hour trolley tour weaving the stories of intriguing figures in African American History with highlights of the cemetery grounds and monuments. \n\n♦ Seating is limited and tickets are required.♦ We ask that everyone arrive between 9:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. for a prompt 10:00 a.m. departure.♦ The Trolley is climate controlled but weather-appropriate clothing is suggested as opportunities to disembark from the vehicle are available.♦ Trolley tour tickets are a suggested donation of $5 each. \nThere is a limit of 4 RSVP per registering individual. DESCRIPTION:Sips\, Souls\, and Strolls: Steamship History\nWe are excited to announce the return of our popular Sips\, Souls\, and Strolls events! \nEnjoy a pleasant evening of light refreshments\, beautiful surroundings\, and a leisurely tour at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. \nFrom 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on May 13\, 21\, and 27\, 2022\, you can explore Steamboat life. Captains\, pilots\, owners\, and some unfortunate souls lost in a steamboat accident make up our tour. The river’s history runs right through St. Louis\, yet little is known of this era. Bellefontaine Cemetery’s volunteer guides will shed light on these stories during a one-hour walking tour. \n\nWine\, beer\, soft drinks\, and light appetizers will be served. Walking terrain is mild with a mixture of hard and soft surfaces. Please wear appropriate outdoor walking attire. This is a rain or shine event except in the case of extreme lightning.
