DESCRIPTION:Sips\, Souls\, and Strolls: Suffragists\nWe are excited to announce the return of our popular Sips\, Souls\, and Strolls events! \nEnjoy a pleasant evening of light refreshments\, beautiful surroundings\, and a leisurely tour at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. \nFrom 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on April 1\, 15\, and 29\, 2022\, you can explore women’s suffrage. From the St. Louis Union Aid Society created in reaction to Wilson creek (August 1861) to the formation of the Woman’s Suffrage Association of Missouri (May 1867)\, St. Louis women were on the cutting edge of securing the Right to Vote. \n\nWine\, beer\, soft drinks\, and light appetizers will be served. Walking terrain is mild with a mixture of hard and soft surfaces. Please wear appropriate outdoor walking attire. This is a rain or shine event except in the case of extreme lightning. DESCRIPTION:Cathleen’s Chapel Walking Tour\nWalking is the ideal way to observe the cemetery. Our Walk with Cathleen begins at Wildwood Valley. A variety of plants bloom from spring to fall. We will pass a suffragist\, a doctor who helped save St. Louis during the 1918 pandemic\, and a cookbook author. We’ll learn about riverboat pilots and civil war participants on the way to the Busch Mausoleum. The rolling hills of Bellefontaine will allow a greater appreciation of the 87\,000 lives commemorated on the grounds of the oldest Garden Cemetery west of the Mississippi and the over 9\,000 trees throughout the cemetery. Participate in-person or virtually. \nIn-Person 5K/10K – Saturday\, April 9th \nCheck-in 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Race starts at 8:35 a.m. \nRegistration for the chip-timed in-person runs includes a race shirt and commemorative race medal. Register by Noon on March 14 to get your race shirt and medal delivered directly to you. Estimated shipping date is March 28. \nAfter March 14\, there will be a limited number of shirts available. DESCRIPTION:Sips\, Souls\, and Strolls: Suffragists\nWe are excited to announce the return of our popular Sips\, Souls\, and Strolls events! \nEnjoy a pleasant evening of light refreshments\, beautiful surroundings\, and a leisurely tour at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. \nFrom 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on April 1\, 15\, and 29\, 2022\, you can explore women’s suffrage. From the St. Louis Union Aid Society created in reaction to Wilson creek (August 1861) to the formation of the Woman’s Suffrage Association of Missouri (May 1867)\, St. Louis women were on the cutting edge of securing the Right to Vote. \n\nWine\, beer\, soft drinks\, and light appetizers will be served. Walking terrain is mild with a mixture of hard and soft surfaces. Please wear appropriate outdoor walking attire. This is a rain or shine event except in the case of extreme lightning. DESCRIPTION:Caravan Tour \nJoin us for a guided caravan tour! Follow along in your own car as we drive to four locations within the cemetery. Wildwood Valley is our first stop where flowers bloom from the spring until fall\, and a famous doctor\, a suffragist\, and a cookbook author are buried nearby. Next\, we’ll explore the mausoleums on Prospect and will be granted entry to the Wainwright Tomb and Lemp Mausoleum. William Clark’s plot is our third destination. The large monument is dedicated to his heroic efforts on the Voyage of Discovery.
