DESCRIPTION:Cathleen’s Chapel Walking Tour\nWalking is the ideal way to observe the cemetery. Our Walk with Cathleen begins at Wildwood Valley. A variety of plants bloom from spring to fall. We will pass a suffragist\, a doctor who helped save St. Louis during the 1918 pandemic\, and a cookbook author. We’ll learn about riverboat pilots and civil war participants on the way to the Busch Mausoleum. This event will be held rain or shine at Bellefontaine Cemetery\, 4947 W. Florissant Ave\, St. Louis\, MO 63115. Once you enter the cemetery gates\, directional signs will guide you to the location.\n \nBrowse items from the cemetery\, our volunteers\, and a few antique dealers. Furniture\, collectibles from past cemetery events\, and assorted items will be available for sale.\n \nA percentage of proceeds will go to the Friends of Bellefontaine Cemetery. The Friends is a 501c3 that supports historic preservation\, conservation efforts\, and educational purposes such as funding tours for local youths when they may not be available within their school district.\n \nNo RSVP is necessary! Stop by and support a great cause\, and then take your own self-guided tour through the cemetery and arboretum.\n \n  \n \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Caravan Tour \nJoin us for a guided caravan tour! Follow along in your own car as we drive to four locations within the cemetery. Wildwood Valley is our first stop where flowers bloom from the spring until fall\, and a famous doctor\, a suffragist\, and a cookbook author are buried nearby. Next\, we’ll explore the mausoleums on Prospect and will be granted entry to the Wainwright Tomb and Lemp Mausoleum. William Clark’s plot is our third destination. The large monument is dedicated to his heroic efforts on the Voyage of Discovery. DESCRIPTION:National Medal of Honor Day is observed every year on March 25 and is dedicated to Medal of Honor Recipients. Each branch of the U.S. military awards the Medal of Honor to those who have distinguished themselves “conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity” above and beyond the call of duty\, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs official site.\n \nJoin us for a special two-hour walking tour on Friday\, March 25\, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. We will explore the lives of 10 Medal of Honor recipients: eight from the Civil War\, one from the Korean Expedition\, and one from World War I. Attendees will be selected to carry flags that will be placed at each grave.\n \nThis event is free\, though donations to the cemetery are greatly appreciated. Tickets are limited\, so please sign up now. Robert)\, a spy (Margaret McClure)\, the “Mother of Kindergarten” (Susan Blow)\, and generations of suffragists who fought tirelessly to secure the right to vote for women.\n \nJoin us for an exciting\, 50-minute Zoom presentation.
