Attention will be paid to architecture and the meanings of memorial art. DESCRIPTION:From left to right: Mayor Rolla Wells\, Frank D. Hershberg\, Florence Hayward\, David R. Francis\, Archbishop John J. Glennon\, and Vatican Commissioner Signor Coquitti posing at the opening of the Vatican Exhibit at the Louisiana Purchase Expedition.\nBellefontaine Cemetery will host its second annual Decoration Day event on Saturday\, June 4th\, 2016. This large-scale living history event will explore a 14 year period\, beginning with the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (otherwise known as the 1904 World’s Fair)\, and will feature reenactors from other historical events taking place up until the close of World War I in November of 1918. \nLiving history provides a ‘first-hand’ account of the lives of people associated with historical events. This Decoration Day event will be attended by suffragists\, doughboys\, movers and shakers of the World’s Fair\, important figures from the Missouri Botanical Garden\, and vintage automobiles and horse-drawn carriages of the time period. \nEvent Schedule\n10:00 AM – Event opens to the public\, with opening remarks\n12:00 PM – Louisiana Purchase Exposition Parade\n2:00 PM – Suffragist Parade\n3:30 PM – Procession for the Fallen – Alexander Skinker \nThank you to our sponsors:\n\n
