William Seward Burroughs 1855-1898
Inventor
A white granite obelisk marks the grave of the inventor of the mechanical calculator. At the age of 28, he perfected the machine which led to the formation of the company that later became the Burroughs Corporation. The inscription on the monument reads, “Erected by his associates as a tribute to his genius.”
