During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are inviting people to take self-guided tours through Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum.

You can drive through the cemetery along 14 miles of paved roadway, or tour our newly painted white line route from the comfort of your car. You can also walk through the cemetery and practice social distancing, keeping at least 6 feet apart from other people who may be visiting the cemetery at the same time. Dog walking is permitted, but please follow our leash laws and clean up after them. You may also ride a bike through the cemetery by yourself or with a friend. Safe social distancing is recommended for all cyclists, too.

We have maps in a box right outside of our main office door, which is located immediately on the right as you enter the cemetery gates at 4947 W. Florissant. You may tour Bellefontaine Cemetery from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Cemetery gates are locked promptly at 5:00 p.m.

Curious about green burial but don’t know what or who to ask? Join Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum’s Green Burial expert, Gracie Griffin, as she provides a closer look at green burial practices, dispels myths, and explores some exciting and fascinating options available throughout the world. You will learn about the range of “green” funeral and cemetery options available today- like being “planted” in a meadow or amongst the trees, what one can expect when choosing a green service, and the environmental benefits of green burial as compared to cremation and traditional burial.

This 90 minute presentation and Q&A will be held in at Hotchkiss Chapel at Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum. Green arrow signs will lead you from our main entrance at 4947 W. Florissant Ave. to the chapel.
