Bellefontaine has thousands of monuments in its 314 acres that we hope will be inspiration to you in designing or selecting a memorial that will be an appropriate tribute.
But because the choices and possibilities are virtually endless, comparing costs is difficult. The following examples are meant to give you a general idea of what memorials of various sizes might cost. Our staff can work with you to help you in the decision-making, design, and purchase process.
A key factor in designing or selecting a monument is the size of the lot. To maintain beauty and balance in our landscape, we limit the ratio of granite to ground. As a general rule of thumb, on a single grave the monument base can be no longer than 24 inches by 12 inches, with a height restriction of 12 inches. On a family lot the rule of thumb is one family monument (with footstones for each individual), occupying no more than 50 percent of the width and 10 percent of the area of the lot. All monument designs and sizes must be approved by our staff.
